Let me tell you in brief what is a medical rep
A
medical rep or medical representative is above all a provider of information to
make doctors and other medical professionals more knowledgeable.
Medical
reps bring new products, devices, and drugs designed to cure and aid a
multitude of illnesses and ailments. Without medical reps, doctors would not
become aware of new advancements in treatments, more effective drugs, and
devices that provide enhanced treatment opportunities
Medical
Rep Job Description
Medical
reps are usual responsible for a specific area or an assigned territory in which they work.
This
area can be as small as a few city blocks and as large as a country. Most
territories are sized so that you can drive to most of your sales locations in
less than a day.
A
medical representatives job description may include the following:
1. Develop
and manage an assigned territory with the goal of maximizing sales
2. Achieve
quarterly and annual sales goals
3. Meet
target call goals with a focus on top customers
4. Host
product presentations to designated customers
5. Understand
and address both business and scientific needs of healthcare professionals
6. Engage
in meaningful dialogue with customers
So, in this series we will talk about the basic selling skills required for the most
common type of medical reps who are known as pharmaceutical sales representatives.
These professionals sell, market, educate, and deliver samples of
pharmaceuticals to doctors and other healthcare professionals.
There are also medical sales device representative, or “med device reps.”
These individuals sell the extremely expensive equipment (often millions of
dollars) to doctors, hospitals, and other medical professionals and facilities
And
to be a perfect medical rep u need to be qualified enough to face all problems
and handle sales objections and answer all questions u meet in this career.
I think
that the most important thing for the professional medical rep is skills, and
when I say skills..
I mean all skills; selling skills, Communication, marketing skills, negotiation skills .., etc.
